Draw Text Paths

INSTRUCTIONS and HINTS:

NOTE: you may use any three words that you like.

Create a New Illustrator Document.

Use the Type Tool to write your name at the top.

Draw an Ellipse and make 4 copies of it directly behind or in front of the original.

Use the Type on a Path Tool to write the first word at the top on one of the ellipses. You MUST use a MODERN FONT, but it may be any size or color that you choose. Place it at the top with the (black arrow) Selection Tool.

HINT: use the Layers Palette to hide (eyes) or lock (locks) the objects that you are not using at the moment.

Use the Type on a Path Tool to write the second word at the bottom left on the second ellipse. You MUST use a DECORATIVE FONT for this one, but it may be any size or color that you choose. Place it in the inside of the ellipse at the bottom left with the (black arrow) Selection Tool. Use the Baseline Shift in the Character dialog to shift the word to the outside of the ellipse.

Use the Type on a Path Tool to write the third word at the bottom right on the third ellipse. You MUST use a SLAB SERIF FONT for this one, but it may be any size or color that you choose. Place it in the inside of the ellipse at the bottom left with the (black arrow) Selection Tool. Use the Baseline Shift in the Character dialog to shift the word to the outside of the ellipse.

HINT: or you could write the third word on the second ellipse spaced after the second word.

Fill and Stroke the fourth ellipse with colors of your own choosing, scale it smaller so it does not interfere with the text.
