In the Office.xlsx file:

  1. Select A1:E7 (cells A1 to E7), on the Home tab in the ribbon change the font to Bookman Old Style.

  2. Select A1:A7, change the font size to 12pts and make the style Bold.

  3. Click on the Border button and choose Right Border.

  4. Select B1:E1, change the font size to 12pts and make the style Bold.

  5. Click on the Border button and choose Bottom Border.

  6. In the column header double-click the line between the column heads to adjust the width of columns A, B, C and D.

  7. Your document should now look like Figure 1 ==>

  8. Figure 3Select B2:E7, on the Home tab in the ribbon change the Number type to Currency.

  9. Change the Number type to Accounting.

  10. Make the October column narrower by dragging the header line.

  11. If the numbers change to ######, re-adjust the column width to fit the larger numbers. See Figure 2 ==>

  12. Click on A1 and add a new row at the top: click on the Insert button on the Home tab of the ribbon and select Insert Sheet Rows.

  13. In cell A1 type Office Expenses.

  14. Select A1:E1 and click on Merge & Center on the Home tab of the ribbon.

  15. Change the font to Bookman Old Style, 20pts and Bold.

  16. Color the title text to your choice of color..

  17. Fill the title cell to your choice of color.

  18. Make the title cell taller by dragging the header line between 1 and 2. See Figure 3 ==>

  19. Align vertical Align button the title text to the middle
    of the taller cell .

  20. Fill the data cells (B3:E7) to your choice of color.

  21. Color the Total row to your choice of color.

  22. Download (save) this picture on your computer: OfficeInc.jpg

  23. Click on the Background button, on the Page Layout tab in the ribbon.

  24. Navigate to the OfficeInc.jpg picture on your computer, select it and click Insert.

  25. Done, see Figure 4 ==>



  26. Right-click on the spreadsheet tab (at the bottom of the window), or use the Format>Sheet menu and select Rename.

  27. Type "Monthly Expenses," press ENTER (return).

  28. Spreadsheet TabRight-click on the spreadsheet tab (at the bottom of the window), or use the Format>Sheet menu and select Tab Color.... See Figure 4 ==>

  29. Select any color that you like.

 

SAVE YOUR DOCUMENT.

TURN IN YOUR DOCUMENT.

 

NOTE: the background picture OfficeInc.jpg will not appear on a printout.
