Complete the following exercises:

1. TRACK INVENTORY

The Tastee Sandwich Shop has hired you to do their inventory.

Use the information in this word file:

Sandwitches.doc

 

Their sandwiches include:

• Roast Beef
• Ham
• Chicken
• Turkey
• Veggies

Start with a blank Excel spreadsheet.

Remember to label your columns at the top, this will help you in the end.

In the first column list the names of the sandwiches.

In the second column list the number of ounces (oz) of filling in each sandwich. DO NOT TYPE "oz" in the cells: this is number data not text data!

In the third column list how much filling is available, in pounds (lb). DO NOT TYPE "lb" in the cells!

In the fourth column convert, using a formula, the amount of filling from pounds (lb) into ounces (oz). HINT: there are 16 ounces in one (each) pound.

2. LOOK AHEAD

Your boss wants you to track how quickly sandwiches are being sold and how much filling needs to be on hand each week to make that many sandwiches.

In the fifth column list the number of sandwiches sold per day.

In the sixth column calculate, with a formula, the filling in pounds (lb) needed per week for each sandwich

3. ADD PRODUCTS

Two new cheese sandwiches have been added...

Insert them between the chicken and veggies sandwiches. in your spreadsheet:

1. Insert two new rows
2. Name them for the two new sandwiches.
3. Fill in the cells in each row: from the sandwitches.doc file and calculated.

 

4. ANALIZE THE DATA

Underneath each column calculate the Total, Minimum and Maximum.

In the cells A16 through A20 note the:

A16. Total number of sandwiches sold in a day.
A17. Which sandwiches do we sell the most of?
A18. Which sandwiches do we sell the least of?
A19. Which sandwich uses the most filling?
A20. Which sandwiches do we not have enough filling for the whole week?

• Put your name in Cell A24.
• Put your period number into Cell A25.
